Hepatobiliary surgery is the term for surgery performed on the pancreas, liver, and bile duct. The hepatobiliary surgeon treats primary liver tumours, such as cholangiocarcinoma, hepatocellular carcinoma, and sarcomas, among other basic liver problems. Metastatic cancers from other tissues, such as the colon, can spread to a big organ like the liver. Cholangiocarcinoma has the potential to damage the bile ducts.
